SESSION ROUTINE
A prop firm session checklist
A short checklist can reduce avoidable clicks and make a decision to stop visible. Adapt it to the rules of your program and your own written plan.
Before the session
- Confirm the account, contract, timeframe and session hours.
- Read the current Daily Loss Limit and Maximum Loss Limit settings for that account.
- Write down your personal daily stop, maximum number of attempts and the size you will use.
- Check the chart has the levels and indicators you actually need.
- Keep optional automation off until you have reviewed its parameters and explicitly armed it.
During the session
- Read the direction, quantity, order type and price before each submission.
- After a fill, confirm the position, stop and target from the active chart.
- Pause after a loss or a context change; do not increase size to recover a loss.
- Use a cooldown or a written break when your plan says to stop.
After the session
- Cancel stale pending orders and confirm the position is flat if that is your plan.
- Record the setup, execution, rule state and one process improvement.
- Update your checklist only between sessions, never in reaction to a live loss.
Product boundary
TSPilot can keep chart controls close to the workflow, but it cannot interpret your strategy or guarantee a risk limit. See the TopstepX workflow guide and loss-limit guide.
